Why must every newscast contain a portion these days where there’s a bar on the edge of the screen listing off a bunch of headlines, which highlight as the newscaster gets to them and them dissolve as the next one comes up? Please tell me that mainstream American press didn’t take a page out of Stephen Colbert’s book; it’s not supposed to work that way…
